Contemporary textiles deserve thoughtful and innovative finishing. It’s not enough to simply bind or frame. The artist must ask “what is the most ‘elegant solution’ to this design problem?”.
This CD means you’re just a click away from studied enquiry and questioning as it relates to the topic of bindings, edges, framing and backing. Part One asks the questions you must consider as you determine the most appropriate finish for your work. Part Two outlines and demonstrates more than a dozen integrative, effective finishing techniques for the work you make – whether art quilt, art cloth, clothing, collage or something uniquely your own. “The Gallery” is a visual feast – twenty years of exploration, discovery and gorgeous examples of the quest for the perfect completion.
